PSYCHE HEADCANONSAutistic; sensitive to physical touch, food textures, loud sound. Stims in private, suppresses them in public (with the exception of adjusting his gloves).Has an avoidant attachment style.
Perceives himself as unlovable, nobody can know who he really is, to protect all parties involved. His lifestyle forces him to live away from others, both because he is physically and emotionally absent.As a child, Diluc had a lot of meltdowns and sensory overloads, primarily related to clothing and meal textures. By the time Kaeya came around, Diluc learned to suppress them, but they switched from meltdowns to shutdowns (withdraws, periods of selective mutism and/or unresponsiveness).His brain will shut down when given physical affection, automatically attuned to be repulsed by it. Thus, Diluc is touch-averse.Diluc will go selectively mute if in a state of intense emotions, ESPECIALLY if he is crying or on the verge of doing so.Diluc self-describes as a "flighty" sleeper. In reality, he means "fight"y: In recent years, his gut instinct upon being awoken is to fight whatever is trying to, in his unconscious brain, attack him. Adelinde has adopted to poking him with a yardstick to wake him if he ever oversleeps, to her amusement.He has a massive special interest in birds of prey. Don't ask him about them, or else he won't shut up about them, and then proceed to be extremely embarrassed upon realizing just how childish his excited rambles were. Although if you want to break down his frigid and unwelcoming exterior... Asking about birds is the way to go.Has various forms of synesthesia ("a blending of the senses"). His strongest form of synesthesia is taste-texture/shape synesthesia, and drinks will frequently be described with odd descriptions because of this. For example, wine tastes like a, "white orb", and hard liquors taste like "angry brown triangles". Other forms of synesthesia may include tactile-visual (ex. seeing the sensation of a backrub as a stabbing bright blue streak), smell-shape (ex. smoke having a speckled shape, sweet smells looking like a teardrop), and more.
PHYSICAL HEADCANONS
Diluc wears compression gloves because of old burn and frost scars, the nerves never quite healed from them. Without the compression gloves, sometimes his hands feel wet, or like they're being crushed (if he moves them a certain way).
He wears the compression gloves under his leather gloves, the leather gloves providing more comfort, formality, and an easy go-to stim.
Diluc has various scars along his body, but the ones on his arms are pretty faded. The ones on his back and abdomen are the worst.
At 5'10, he wears 1 and 1/2 inch height-raising insoles. Combined with his shoe soles, he becomes 6ft. This is because Kaeya had a growth spurt first, and unsolicited height comparisons between the two in their teens made him insecure. He is since less insecure about it, he just feels more confident with them. Walking on his toes when barefoot is a habit from those days.
Flat affect in voice, expression hardly moving even when he physically feels as though it is.
Slightly farsighted, owns reading glasses but prefers to just squint at pages to read them.
Wears one small black or red stud piercings in each earlobe. (Red for default outfit; black for his Red Dead of Night outfit.) Diluc does not wear his piercings if he knows he will engage in combat.
He has one dimple, on his right side! It shows both when he is smiling (even if the smile is not very visible) and when he is scowling.

Headcanoned Skills
MUSICAL:
Canonically, Diluc knows how to play the lyre extremely well, but is headcanoned to sing and play the piano as well. He doesn't have much time to play, and it's really more of a party trick than anything. It's more convenient to hire someone to play, unless playing gets him out of forced socialization when it becomes unnecessary..KNOWLEDGE:
If anyone has any inquiry about birds, Diluc is the one to go to.
Birds of prey are his special interest, but he used to have a strong interest in passerines (small, sparrow-like birds), and knows a good deal about birds, bird care, and bird rehabilitation that can apply to avian creatures in general..DIGUISE:
With tons of practice and a hired voice tutor, eventually Diluc convincingly could sound like a woman (as humiliated as he would be if someone found out).
He has to practice regularly to keep the ability to do it, maybe once a week or every other week. He retains this skill for missions where abstract disguises may be necessary.Using the fake "Woman Voice", he can...

Genshin is a Chinese game, and Chinese law dictates that media cannot depict people under the drinking age (18) consuming alcohol, and both Mika and Bennett have mentioned consuming or buying alcohol in-game.This is also why Noelle and Fischl are minors; voicelines reveal that they are underage/cannot drink alcohol.The Traveler is ambiguous, mistaken as a minor by most in Mondstadt, but referred to as an adult in other nations.
